As a NICU nurse, I thought that life with a newborn wouldn’t bring too many surprises. I was quickly humbled after a two day labor, a jiggly, unstable core and the realization that breastfeeding required an intensive amount of devotion. I knew a lot about baby care, but I didn’t have many mom friends because I was the one of the first to have a baby, and I didn’t have much awareness about local postpartum professionals or resources.

Over time I gained more knowledge and by the time my second baby arrived, I was able to intentionally set up a restful, supported postpartum for myself. These personal experiences sparked an idea for an event that would connect parents with local resources and professionals BEFORE the baby arrives.

No more frantic scrolling Google reviews at 2am! No more trying to make quick decisions or do research in the postpartum haze! Instead, a new approach: meet professionals while pregnant, so you can determine who will support your values, whose opinions you can trust and who to turn to when problems arise.

Enter the Birth & Beyond Collective, an event created for parents to connect with local professionals. The first events were held in 2023 & 2024 and had a wide variety of vendors including lactation consultants, doulas, oral tie specialists, therapists, chiropractors, photographers, pelvic floor therapists & more!

Since then I’ve renamed the event to match my business name, but the same philosophy applies: connect parents with an extensive network of local birth and postpartum support. No more parenting in isolation! No more confusion about where to turn when the going gets rough!
